Yogatari Tobari (()(がたり)トバリ) is a vocal synthesizer character developed by Res Novae Inc. in collaboration with AI, Inc.. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, she was released as a Japanese A.I.VOICE text-to-speech library, developed through the A.I.VOICE Junior program, as well as a NEUTRINO singing voice model in July 2023. She received an update to the A.I.VOICE2 software in December 2024.[1][2]

Yogatari Tobari is voiced by the Japanese voice actress Toa Yukinari (行成とあ, Yukinari Toa).

Concept[]

Yogatari Tobari is a character that was created through a collaboration with the Japanese tabletop role-playing game YouTuber Nikorai Volkof (ニコライ・ボルコフ) through the audience-participation project “Let's create a new talk software” (新しいソフトウェアトークをつくろう), managed and operated by Res Novae Inc..[3][4][5]

On July 22, 2022, AI, Inc. announced an A.I.VOICE Live Broadcast to be held on July 29, featuring a new crowdfunding campaign with plans to develop an A.I.VOICE Junior text-to-speech library for a new character under the name of Yogatari Tobari, with a stretch goal to develop a NEUTRINO singing voice model.[6] The campaign began recruiting on July 26, 2022, raising Ұ31,192,830 yen in total with the support of 1,169 people, and closed on August 31, 2022.[7]

Yogatari Tobari was officially released on July 14, 2023 as intended.[8]

After reaching the fifth stretch goal of ¥10,000,000 yen during the crowdfund, it was decided that Yogatari Tobari would be receving a set of exVOICE samples.
