Wakou Minori (若穂みのり) is a Japanese A.I.VOICE text-to-speech library developed by Nihon Kogakuin Technical College in collaboration with AI, Inc. and was released in March 2023. She is capable of speaking in standard intonation.
Her voice is provided by Mikaeru (ミカエル), a student in attendence of Nihon Kogakuin Technical College, who was selected via audition.[1]
Concept[]
Wakou Minori is a character and vocal synthesis software created in collaboration with Nihon Kogakuin Technical College and AI, Inc. that allows users to create vocals with a character voice that is cheerful, pop, and cute. Her vocals and illustrations were created by students attending Nihon Kogakuin Technical College.[2][1]

Wakou Minori was illustrated by Kato (かと), another student attending Nihon Kogakuin Technical College.[1]
History[]
On May 16, 2022, AI, Inc. announced the joint development of a new character for the voice reading software A.I.VOICE through an industry-academia collaboration project with Nihon Kogakuin Technical College. Plans to commercialize the product were announced to be realized in March 2023.[3]
Wakou Minori made her official debut on February 22, 2023 and her official illustrations and demo were released as well as her A.I.VOICE product and character pages. Users could test out Minori's software on the official product page. Her official release date was announced to be March 3, 2023.[4] An interview with the voice provider and illustrator, two students in attendance of Nihon Kogakuin Technical College, was released the same day documenting the process of Wakou Minori's development.[1][5]
Wakou Minori was released for A.I.VOICE on March 3, 2023 as intended.[6] A free trial was also released.
Marketing[]
An official website was created for Wakou Minori hosting her official illustrations, logos, purchase information and a trial of her library.[7]
Additional exVOICE voice material files were released on March 20, 2023 for Minori.[8][9]
