Renoid Player, often referred to simply as Renoid, is an internet-browser integrated singing synthesizer, advertised as a virtual singer system, developed by Sato-san using the Renoise XRNI or SoundFont SF2 sound libraries and cascaded pitch-corrector. Renoid Player was released in September 2012.

Concept[]

Renoid Player was conceptualized with a goal, similar to that of VOCALOID, to produce vocal synthesis, utilizing the sampler function of Renoise. The structure of Renoid is simple, and functions at the same level as "Manual Vocaloid" (also known as "Jinriki Vocaloid" (äŗŗåŠ›ćƒœć‚«ćƒ) + Alpha. Renoid is open source allowing for users to develop for it and allowing anyone to use it.

Currently, there are two versions of Renoid, the Renoise version and the SoundFont version, and the SoundFont version can be used with most DAWs. In terms of sound quality, voice smoothness, and other areas requiring a high level of skill and know-how, it was noted that Renoid may not be able to compete with the original VOCALOID products or UTAU.
