Piapro Studio NT or Piapro Studio for NT is the successor to the previously released Piapro Studio for V4X by Crypton Future Media, Inc.. Unlike its predecessors, it no longer relies on a VOCALOID API and uses it's own engine, aswell as being a standalone program and no longer requires the use of a DAW. A beta version was released alongside the prototype of Hatsune Miku NT in early June 2020 to those who pre-purchased the Miku NT software. The NT stands for New Type.[1]

Singing synthesis research and development for Piapro Studio NT is conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Their research conclusions were incorporated into Piapro Studio NT.
Resynthesis technology was used to construct the voicebanks. Consonants and vowels are specifically analyzed to avoid disruptions. The accent of each vocal can be manipulated. Piapro Studio for NT is available as a plug-in or a standalone editor. The pitch curve and waveform are visible in the editor.[2]

- 3.0.0.1: Bug fixes and improvements for the Direct Pitch Edit function.[3]
- 3.0.0.5: Update to the voice library, addition of natural waveform synthesis, and minor bug fixes.[4]
- 3.0.0.7: Beta vibrato function added.[5]
- 3.0.0.9: Fixed crash when loading a .ppsf with vibrato, directly edited pitch curves now move together when moving or resizing notes, the Vibrato Track will no longer show the property bar for notes that do not have vibrato set, fixed the behavior of the [Sil] / [Asp] note pitch curve (beta version), slightly faster processing during editing, and minor bug fixes.[6]
