Namine Ritsu (波音リツ) is a Japanese vocal synthesizer character created and voiced by Canon and was originally released for the UTAU voice synthesizer software in October 2009. Since then, she has received numerous additional singing and speaking voicebanks and voice models for other vocal synthesizer software such as Sinsy, DeepVocal, TALQu, AmadeuSY, ENUNU, VOICEVOX, COEIROINK, ACE Studio, RVC, and DiffSinger.
Ritsu was originally created to troll niconico users.[4] She is often perceived as an okama and a bully whose favorite tactic is purple nurples.
Etymology
Her surname Namine (波音) means "wave sound" and her name Ritsu (律 (リツ)) means pitch, rhythm, principle, and presumably the converse of tsuri (troll).
Appearance
Ritsu has long "Red that looks like fire" hair that separates in the middle and "Maziora" eyes. She wears a two-piece "mourning dress" and a tiny top hat with a short veil. She also wears a violet headset with orange lights. She is often surrounded with a rainbow, circular keyboard around her waist.
Personality
Ritsu is described as having a "cool" personality. She specializes in mischief and is weak to cozy relationships.[1]
Ooka Miko - derivative and fellow vip@2ch product and prank character.
Sukone Tei - fellow vip@2ch product and prank character.
History
In the wake of the first successful troll from the "VIPPERs" (Vip News Bulletin@2ch users), known as Kasane Teto, annual fake VOCALOIDs developed by "Crvpton" were developed by the same bulletin board, though noticeably less serious. Namine Ritsu was first released for the UTAU synthesis engine on October 12th, 2009.[5]
In 2018, a placeholder button was added to Ritsu's voicebank list.[6] Leaving users questioning the possibility of a new voicebank. The website was updated with information about a potential Sharpkey voicebank.[7] Canon mentioned on Twitter that the Sharpkey voicebank was finished in October 2018 but wasn't released due to circumstances.[8]
On October 9, 2019, Canon released Ritsu's Sharpkey, now DeepVocal bank.
On August 1, 2021, Canon expressed interest in creating a VOICEVOX voicebank.[9] Months later, on November 22, she released a demo and announced that Ritsu would be receiving a talk voicebank for VOICEVOX. It would release a few days later on the 26.[10]
