HARU (羽累) is a vocal synthesizer character derived from the Japanese Virtual Singer, Harusaruhi. She was released as a Japanese singing voicebank for CeVIO AI, developed by KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO as a part of the ARTIFICIAL SINGING SYNTHESIZER series in November 2023.
On January 13, 2024, it was announced that HARU would be released as a text-to-speech library for VOICEPEAK and was expected to release in 2024. Pre-order reservations were announced to be opening on January 29.[1]
HARU's voice is provided by the virtual singer, Harusaruhi.
Concept[]
HARU is advertised as a "ARTIFICIAL SINGING SYNTHESIZER" (音楽的同位体) of her voice provider Harusaruhi, similar to that of KAFU, SEKAI, RIME & COKO. In her official debut trailer, her concept phrase is: "Your "music" emerges. What you love, what you hate; bring it together in your "lyrics."" (あなたの「音楽」 が羽化する。好きも嫌いも「詞」に累ねて。)[2] Her signature color is green, specifically hex code #3CD705.[3]
Etymology[]
HARU's name is a stylized version of her voice provider Harusaruhi's name.
Her name takes from the verbs of her concept phrase; from 羽化する (emerge) and 累ねて (piled-up) to form 羽累 (HARU). Together, it translates literally to "piled-up/accumulated wings".
Additionally, the name "HARU" shares its romanization with Harusaruhi's character "Asanushi Haru" (朝主派流) from KAMITSUBAKI CITY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. (神椿市建設中。)
Appearance[]
HARU's design is loosely based on her voice provider, Harusaruhi. She has long straight white hair with choppy angular bangs and a braided strand on the right side of her head. Her pupils are teal and purple, her eyeshadow and lipstick are yellow. She wears a short, white, high-necked jacket with puffy sleeves. A black and teal diamond pattern decorates the sleeves. She wears a black coat with white triangles on the hem over a white minidress. Her leggings are black with a white triangles on the upper thigh, and a white line down the center. Her shoes are black loafer-like short boots with teal tongues, and rims. Her black headset has one red cup and one teal.
HARU was illustrated by Japanese illustrator Isshiki.

On October 18, 2022 a new trailer featuring HARU was released on the official Musical Isotope Project YouTube Channel and a new website was created for HARU.[4][5][6]
On November 6, 2022 HARU performed alongside her voice provider during the Harusaruhi × KOKO TWO-MAN LIVE Singularity Live vol.2 virtual concert.[7]
