HAL-O-ROID Minami (ハルオロイド・ミナミ) is a Japanese CeVIO Creative Studio voicebank by Teichiku Records Co., Ltd.. He is capable of singing.
He was derived from the deceased Enka singer Minami Haruo (三波春夫).
Concept[]
Similar in nature to VOCALOID vocals "Ueki-loid" and "hide" he is an attempt to resurrect the voice of a deceased singer, though is the first to be offered as a public product instead of a private project.
Etymology[]
"HAL-O-ROID" is a literal meaning meant to mean "Haruo droid", with "HAL-O" playing on the vowel sound of "uo" and the interchangeable nature of "l/r" in Japanese.
It is also a reference to the common use of "roid" or "loid" for "android" within vocal synthesizers, as made famous by the software "VOCALOID" (whose own name means "vocal and roid" and also a play on the interchangeable nature of "l/r").
Appearance[]
His provider is renowned for his appearance on stage in a kimono, which was rarely seen for male singers, making him stand out. This has been carried over into the CeVIO avatar.

Marketing[]
HAL-O-ROID was released October 20th, and is free to download. With no prior announcements made in regards to this upcoming vocal. His provider gained a lot of respect and a good reputation for his well treatment of his audience, and was known to treat them as "God". He believed that their word was correct and that a dissatisfied audience was to his own fault and not theirs. This gained him quite a following, and he became a national singer over time.
Alongside his release, a MikuMikuDance version of his 3D model by Kaneko Ranou was distributed.
In December 2017, a album titled "Minami Haruo HAL-O-ROID Minami Complete Song Collection" (三波春夫 ハルオロイド・ミナミ 全曲集, Minami Haruo HAL-O-ROID Minami Zenkyokushuu) was released. Disc 1 features Minami Haruo himself while disc 2 features HAL-O-ROID. On the same day, a single was released titled "Beifun Japan!" (米粉ジャパン!). It was done in collaboration with the Japan Rice Flour Association (日本米粉協会, Nihon Beifu Kyoukai).
