Fukase (ふかせ) is a Japanese VOCALOID that was developed and distributed by the YAMAHA Corporation, and was created in collaboration with Lastrum Music Entertainment Inc. and TOKYO FANTASY Inc. He was released for the VOCALOID4 engine in January 2016.
He is voiced by Fukase Satoshi (深瀬慧), the lead singer of the Japanese band SEKAI NO OWARI.
Concept[]
Etymology[]
His name is taken directly from his voice provider.
Appearance[]
Fukase's design was picked through a contest with the winner being mikuma. The winning design received minor changes in the finished product.
His face was originally symmetrical, but in the final design, the left half of his face was more deformed and his eye became completely red. The skin of his neck and left arm also received the deformed appearance.
Relations[]
- Point - A companion of Fukase.
History[]
Marketing[]
Fukase's design was chosen via a contest on Pixiv.[1]
Fukase has a strict special license condition. Producers who want to use the voice for commercial reasons need to ask permission. He cannot be used without permission for profit. The implications also mean that doujin works cannot be sold for profit.[2]

- Fukase - English
- The English version of the Fukase vocal was created to match the tone of the "normal" vocal and was created because Fukase Satoshi himself likes to use English lyrics in songs.

Reputation[]
Sales[]
In June 2016, it was reported that Fukase was still not necessarily selling well as a voicebank. One Japanese outlet reported that though a lot of interest was in the software, few people were buying it. The overall success of Fukase is unknown.[3]
Reaction[]
Prior to release, there was much interest in the vocal package. After launch, it was reported as a favorite for a number of VOCALOID fans. This lead to VOCALOID NET running several articles on him.[4]
