Amy, Chris, Kaori, and Ken are the current standard VOCALOIDs developed and distributed by the YAMAHA Corporation. They make up the four starter vocals of the VOCALOID5 engine and were released in July 2018. Amy and Chris are English-capable VOCALOIDs while Kaori and Ken are Japanese-capable VOCALOIDs. They replace the VY series, which previously acted as the main "Standard" Vocaloids.
Their voice providers have not been revealed.
Concept[]
According to Gizmodo the 4 take on a human-like approach, though did express concerns they did not seem "Vocaloid-like".[1]

Appearance[]
The four use a 1990s 3D art style to represent them with low polygon limits giving them an angular appearance and very little, or no textures on their models. In most instances of their given images, their 4 models appear with random triangles to give the 3D models a fragmented or corrupted appearance.
Each character model wears a basic necklace that matches the color of the background they're presented on. Amy's is pink, Chris's is blue, Kaori's is orange, and Ken's is green. Amy also wears pink hoop earrings.
History[]
Marketing[]
The 4 vocals were marketed as being exclusive vocals that come with the VOCALOID5 engine itself. No matter which of the two options that a buyer chooses, they would end up with the 4 vocals.
Reputation[]
Trivia[]
- They are the second "free" vocals for VOCALOID, the first being from the VOCALOID first app which had a free version of VY1.
Achievements[]
- Two of the first female VOCALOID5 vocals (Amy, Kaori)
- Two of the first male VOCALOID5 vocals (Chris, Ken)
- Four of the first VOCALOID5 vocals ever released
